1. Free Will, Hell, and the Destiny of the Sons of God

It would take nothing for the God who created all things to make up for whatever you go through. There is a recompense so great that people would say, "I wish I had gone through that, to receive this." That is the kind of makeup He gives.

Now consider free will, because free will explains hell. People say, "I don't want God, but I still want to be happy, I still want the sunshine, I still want my kids." They do not realize that they do want God, because what is God to you? God manifested every one of those luxuries. He did not have to create time. He did not have to create color; imagine a reality with no color and no time. He created the eye. He invented the concept of music. So you cannot take what He made and say you do not want Him.

If you truly do not want God, a place would have to be prepared for you that is dark, because He is light; timeless, because He is time; without rest, because He gives rest; without peace, because He gives peace; without compassion, because He has compassion; without comfort. That place sounds exactly like hell as the Bible describes it. Hell is terrible because God has removed His goodness, His attributes, from it. "Why would He make a place like that?" Look at some of the things people do: some are so bad that they need something worse than jail or death. And a place completely devoid of God would have to be like the lake of fire, which is not hell — they are two different things. According to Revelation, hell will be thrown into the lake of fire, the second death, described as absolute, perfect torment. It is a reality that is the complete opposite of God: the opposite of comfort, joy, and happiness. If He provides infinite joy and happiness in eternity, then its polarity would have to be infinite — infinite suffering. That is simply free will. Hell and the lake of fire must be real, because they are the only logical way these situations can be reconciled.

So if everyone has been doing wrong, what is the next option? Mercy and grace. You want to save what you created. Why did He make us this way? He didn't. He made you and did not install the complete software, because of free will. RI, real intelligence, can run in any direction. Give a car RI and it will chase whatever feels good; if going fast feels good, it will race down the street. Why do dogs get the zoomies, and kids, and motorcycles? It feels good, so you do it. If God wrote code that made you do everything He wanted, that would not be free will. And if free will were never given, the complaint would come: "God, You never let us decide for ourselves." So a period of time is given in which humans do whatever they want. That is what the Bible says.

But God has boundaries and limits, and when you do wrong He has to punish you. He simply has to, or the whole universe would fall apart. Even the molecules have to get along: a proton has to be a proton, a neutron a neutron, an electron an electron, working together, or nothing exists. Switch their charges and you have problems. Everything has to submit and behave. So there are still rules. God encouraged humans, and did everything that could be done, so they would not self-destruct. And they self-destructed anyway.

So then God saved humanity and offered His code. Those who receive His code, through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, begin to be transformed into the final image of what He was creating. He is creating gods. He said so in the Bible, and made it clear that these gods He is creating will rule over planets — He will give them Venus, the bright morning star, the whole planet, formless and void with darkness on the face of the deep, and show them how to make it firm land as in Genesis. He does not need to skip Venus to get to Mars. He said you will rule the nations the way He rules the nations; you are gods and children of the Most High; there are enough stars for all the descendants of Abraham; you will be kings, priests, and gods.

That is why He said eye has not seen, ear has not heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who love Him. People imagine Heaven one way or another and He says, "You all have it wrong." The prophets say a time will come when God blesses you so much that you will fear. Whatever you are imagining, what He has planned is far greater.

Preparing gods is very difficult. To create RI, and then make those RI beings that powerful — who could do that? You would have to be, as the Bible says, the God of gods, the Almighty, to handle real intelligence that can reproduce across the world and turn against you. But once you receive Him, you go from being a man to being a god. "To as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God." "It doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." People shift from humankind to God-kind when they receive that extra.

2. The Fourth Part: Becoming One with Him

Some cars come with digital software upgrades that make them drive faster and better. Before the upgrade it is a luxury car; after the upgrade it is a supercar. We receive a final upgrade like that: the joining with Him, where He joins Himself to the real intelligence that is going to rule and becomes one with them as part of the Godhead body.

That is why you do not see the word "Trinity" in the Bible but you do hear of a fourth part. He said, "I and the Father will come and live in you." Now imagine someone knocks on your door and wants to move in. What would you say? First you would want to know whether you know them. "Do I know you?" And what if they answered, "Well, I read all your books. I used to hold little studies where we taught about the book you wrote and the things you told people to do. I went to a school where they taught what you wrote." You would say, "I'm very glad you enjoyed the book and taught the book — but who are you again? You want to move in with my family, with my children, in my own home, for all eternity, and I don't even know you."

You have to literally become part of His family. "To as many as believed, to them gave He power to become the sons of God." You will be one with the Lord Jesus Christ the same way the Lord Jesus Christ is one with the Father, which means you become part of the Godhead body. So it is not a trinity; it is a oneness of four: the bride (the redeemed), the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Father, all four as one. We are the fourth part hinted at in the Old Testament.

Now hear what the Lord Jesus Christ said about the day of judgment. Many, many people will say, "Lord, Lord" — saying it twice, emphatically declaring Him Lord — and will talk about how much faith they had in His name, working miracles and casting out demons. And He will say, "I never knew you. Depart from Me, you worker of iniquity." That means: you had faith in My name, so much that you worked miracles; you declared Me Lord; but you were doing bad works, and I have no relationship with you. Depart into the place prepared for Satan and his angels. That is not hell; it is the second death. This is judgment day, when death and hell are thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is prepared only for Satan and the followers of Satan.

So how do you get saved? Two things we learn from that. One: do not work iniquity. Two: know the Lord Jesus Christ; have a relationship with Him. And He said, "Those who endure to the end, the same shall be saved." Salvation is spoken of in the future tense. Think of a refrigerator with some food that has gone rotten. A day of reckoning comes when you take the rotten food and throw it in the trash, and some food is saved that day. So no one can say "I'm saved" yet; it hasn't happened. On that day He will throw away the tares and save the wheat, and those who endure to the end will be among the ones who are saved. You need a relationship with Him, and you need to continue that relationship to the end.

We know this is true because Yeshua, God Almighty, said it Himself: "And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent." He said that is salvation.

3. Sons of God and the Father's House

"I never knew you." So you have to literally become part of His family. "To as many as believed, to them gave He power to become the sons of God." You literally become a child of God.

People ask, "Sons? What about daughters?" Understand how language works. In English, "cat" covers both male and female cats. In English, "man" means humans, not male as opposed to female. We call it humankind, and a kind is a category: dog kind, fish kind, bird kind, human kind. The word "kind" can be dropped, so "man" is the same as "mankind." When you see a woman, that is mankind; you are not calling her a male. God put man on the earth: "male and female created He them." Them who? Man. He made man male and female — man and wo-man. So when the Bible says "sons of God," it is not speaking of male or female. It is speaking of God-type: you are the offspring of the Creator. Spanish still keeps this: "hijos" can mean your sons and your daughters together. Don't be misled into thinking it means only males. It means humans becoming sons of God.

If you are adopted by God, He says the Holy Spirit testifies to it by having you cry "Abba, Father." This happened to me. Tongues came out and began to say "Dad, Daddy," and God told me, "I am your only Father." Why "Daddy" and not "Abba"? Because Abba is Aramaic, and I do not speak Aramaic. Abba means Daddy. For an Aramaic speaker it is Abba; for others it is Papa, or Daddy, or Dad. So you become a child of God and you are becoming God-type. You need that relationship with God and to become part of His family; then you move into His home and receive His inheritance.

I sometimes joke with my son: "What are you doing staying at my place? Why don't you go get your own place?" He is sharp; he says, "Because I'm a child here, so you have to take care of me. I'm staying here and following you around, because you're my dad." Then of course you hug him and make sure he doesn't take it too seriously — but it proves the point. We are able to enter Heaven, but we cannot make our own Heaven. I am but a child, so I need to stay with Dad. When this body dies I need somewhere to go, and by free will I either accepted His upgrade, became His type, was adopted, and live in His home as His child — or I have to find somewhere else to go.

That somewhere else is called outer darkness: away from God and away from all of God's creation, where you can try to create your own creation if you can figure it out. Those who do not want Him are cast out there. You are out of your body, you need somewhere to go, you have nowhere, so you end up in outer darkness — like an astronaut cut loose from the shuttle, drifting into deep space, away from everything. If you are so smart, and so smart without God, go on into outer darkness and build your own world, your own Heaven, your own earth.

There is a joke about scientists who told God, "We don't need You anymore; we have learned how to make man in our image, after our likeness." God said, "Show Me." They reached down for the dirt, and God said, "Uh-uh. Get your own dirt." Everything here is God's technology. Electrons are His technology. Air being compressible so a bird can fly on it is His technology. This body is His technology. Nothing we do is not His technology; we are just building with Legos. "Look what I made!" Fine — but you didn't make the Legos. You are using a system God made for you to build with. "I'm an expert programmer." Then start with no language, just a pile of switches, and develop your own binary, your own compilers, your own language. Even then you cannot come against God, because next you would have to make your own molecules and your own energy. Go into outer darkness and be your own god there — but you would be trying to be a god with God's stuff, borrowing His materials. You are a designer whose only tools are dragging and dropping blocks He made.

And what did God say happens in outer darkness? Weeping and gnashing of teeth. They will not be out there saying, "At last, our own reality, our own godhood." They will be sitting in the midst of nothing — nothing of nothing. No light, because God invented light. No color, because God invented color. No sound, no time, no communication. Nothing. Cast out there, you will be doing a great deal of nothing. So build your relationship. That is salvation.
